Polymer-based HILIC
Polymer-based HILIC HPLC Columns from Shodex
HILIC polymeric gels show many advantages compared to silica-based stationary phases, like e.g. almost unlimited pH value usage, chemical stability, bleeding reduction of the stationary phase, low base line noise with use of particle sensitive detectors, high theoretical plate numbers, very low adsorptive behavior and as well a good temperature stability.
- Separation is based on hydrophilic interaction
- A high polarity stationary phase is used
- Typically the mobile phase contains a mixture of organic solvents such as acetonitrile and aqueous solvents (water or buffer)
- Using the higher polarity mobile phase causes a faster elution
- Applicable for the analysis of high polar substances
